Darryl Green is the head instructor for the Brisbane based branches on Edge Taekwondo. He is a 5th dan black belt. He began training in 1989 and has competed successfully at state and national level in the heavyweight division. Darryl opened his first taekwondo branch in 1994, teaching a small class of students twice a week. In 1996 he moved to the newly opened Carindale PCYC where the club flourished to a stage where presently classes are taught four days a week with as many as four classes a day. In 2010 Darryl opened a second branch at the Sandgate PCYC. This branch has also flourished and classes have grown steadily where there is now three to four classes a day.
Josh commenced training at the Carindale PCYC in 2010. He is the youngest son of Ernie Civitarese and the third member of the family to attain his black belt. Josh has won many state and national level titles in sparring taekwondo. In 2014 he obtained his 1st pum and in 2015 Josh received his 2nd pum. In December 2017 he received his 3rd dan.
Branko started training with the Sandgate branch in 2013. He came to the club as a 1st gup and attained is ChoDan Bo later that year. In December 2014 he obtained his 1st dan with Edge TKD. In December 2016 Branko achieved his 2nd dan. He is a qualified ‘Poomse’ Referee under the Oceania Taekwondo Union. He is also a student of Gumdo.
Spero Stathis attained his black black in 2013.
Liam joined Edge TKD in 2008. He obtained his 1st dan in December 2012 and his second dan in 2016.
Lydia Keulsen was a very successful competitor at club and state level. She attained her first dan in December 2012.
Alyssa Townsend graded for her first dan in December 2012
Luke Townsend attained his first dan in December 2012.
Arthur joined the Carindale branch from another club. He graded to first dan in December 2012.
Zane Kimura joined Muir’s Carindale in 2008. He entered club and state sparring competitions in 2011 and 2012, winning several gold medals. Zane graded to first dan in December 2012. In 2013 he moved to the Gold Coast. He is now a second dan.
Clayton France came from New Zealand as a Cho Dan Bo and joined Muir’s in 2010. He successfully obtained his first dan in 2011.
Kee Ho Lee attained his first dan in December 2011. He started training in 2006.
Andrew joined Muir’s Carindale in 2005 and attained his first dan in 2010. He graded to second dan in December 2012.
Haerim Lee obtained her first dan in 2009.
George Pippos started training at the Carindale PCYC and attained his first dan in 2009
Ernesto (Ernie) Civitarese began training in 2006 under Mr Darryl Green and Mr Eddie Carroll after his son Andrew had been training for a year at the Carindale branch. Ernie obtained his 1st Dan Black Belt in 2009 and his 2nd Dan in 2011 under Mr Robert Muir, Muir’s Taekwondo. Training under Edge TKD Ernie has obtained his 3rd Dan in 2012 and his 4th Dan in December 2017. Ernie is the current treasurer for Sports Taekwondo Qld.
Jun Lee obtained his black belt in 2009.
Bradley began training in 2005 and received is first dan in 2009. He then went on to obtain his second dan in 2011.
Francis Carroll first started taekwondo with his father, instructor David Carroll in Victoria. In 2004 he recommenced his training at Muir’s Carindale and in 2005 attained his first dan. He is currently a second dan.
